About Me

Hello! I am Neita Ashley.

I am a Medina, Texas-based photographer who partners with couples, families, and high school seniors to tell their stories through high-quality portrait photography.

I live with my husband and three boys in the Texas Hill Country.  My husband, Robert, is a full-time rancher, and I am a 2nd grade teacher. We have been married for 23 years. We enjoy stockshowing as a family so we are often found in the barn!

A few of my favorite things include coffee, Mexican food, H-E-B, fitness, baseball games, Robert Earl Keen and Ray Lamontagne music. We love ranching and living here. It is through my son’s travel baseball that I discovered my love for photography.

As a teen and through adulthood I searched for a way to express myself through art. I wrote, I learned music and sang, I painstakingly worked on needlepoint, and I did crafts. None of those gave me the thrill that I was looking for. I was frustrated until I was given my first 16MP Coolpix camera in 2010. I took my first styled shoot of my youngest son, and was in L❤️VE!

I kicked around in the Coolpix camera learning all I could until another milestone occurred in my development. I was determined to get quality shots of my sons in the showring and in their youth league baseball. I saved up and bought a Canon 60D and telephoto lens. One weekend at travel ball I caught a pitcher and ball moment that left me reeling.

With this photo I knew I could catch poignant and meaningful moments for others besides myself. I was thrilled and hooked: here was my way to be creative, my way to give people pieces of themselves that they might not otherwise see.

Flash forward to now — I’ve committed myself to learning everything I can about my craft. I want to provide clients with those images that are worthy of the thousand words that a photograph is.

Photography is a way for me to amplify and explode a moment in time and look for God’s presence in life. Picking up my camera requires me to slow down and be in the moment. As a mom with older children will tell you, childhood goes quickly and I am so glad that I had the urgency and drive to catch them and create. I want to remember all of the subtleties of life. Most of all I want my boys to have imagery that spurs their memories of their father and me, and reflects to them an outline of their lives.

I wish to provide that, as well, to YOU.

Cheers,
Neita Ashley
